Arts Advocacy

  • Marina is a founding board member and current Vice-President of the NJ Choral Consortium. Follow its activities at  www.njchoralconsortium.org
  • She was also a founder and President of mART (Mid-State Arts Resource Team), a group that worked to raise awareness of the value of arts within the community.
  • Ms. Alexander has been happy to serve as Adjudicator for the Chorus competition of the annual Teen Arts Festival of the Monmouth County Arts Council,
    the Annual Scholarship competition of the Monmouth Civic Chorus, and the
    Sights and Sounds Teen Arts Festivals of the Greek Orthodox Churches of NJ.

Additional teaching

Prof. Alexander teaches the core Music History courses at the
                                              College of Staten Island - CUNY.
On occasion, she has also taught courses focusing on various
                                              Great Composers.
She also conducts the CSI Chorus.

Coaching

Ms. Alexander also holds a BFA in Opera Directing from the Oberlin Conservatory
of Music
, and has worked with many opera companies, including the Santa Fe Opera,
NJ State Opera, Academy of Vocal Arts, and Corfu International Opera Festival.
She is available to coach singers in both vocal interpretation and stage movement.
